Camelot

So I haven't been blogging for a while. Today we had a field-trip to the Pasadena Play House to watch "Camelot." A few weeks before the field trip we were told that they wouldn't let us in with a camera or a big bag (or backpack) so it was best to leave them at home. I decided to just bring a small bag since I need to put my phone, wallet, and ipod in. Turns out they didn't want cameras DURING the play. The play was amazing. I'm very interested in the entertainment industry--those kind of things. Like studios, acting, actors, behind the scenes, etc. I like acting, btw. This was my first theatre/play and it was an amazing experience. The Camelot story was predictable but I still loved it. King Arthur, Guenevere, and Lancelot were the main characters--obviously there was a love triangle (which is what made it predictable). The actor that played Lancelot was really good looking. My friend and I were trying to hold in our little girlish squeals. He even took off his shirt in one scene *_*!!!! He had a nice body ;). He can also sing! (Well, they all could--they all had a beautiful voice). Supposedly, the two actors (that played Lancelot and Guenevere) were suppose to be nude while they kissed but the audiences were high schoolers so they couldn't. After the play, the actors changed their clothes and came out and sat down on the stage to take questions from the audience. My friend kept telling me to say "TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT!" which I'm sure we all wanted to say, hah! After the questions with the actors, people were leaving the theatre and my two friends and I were running the opposite direction of the audience--we were heading toward the stage where the actors were talking to each other. We took out the magazine we were given in the beginning of the play and flipped to the pages of the CAST of CHARACTERS and asked them to sign it. I told the actors they were amazing. When Doug, the guy that played Lancelot , leaned forward to sign the magazine, I told him it was an amazing performance and he smiled and said thanks. Usually when I see someone far away and I think they're good looking and when I see them up close, I usually don't think they were as attractive. But this guy... looked so much better up close! My friends were asking some of the actors how old they were. The youngest was 17. Doug (Lancelot) said "Oh, I'm too old. I'm 24."...or was it 23? But yeah, to me, that's not old at all since most of my "celebrity crushes" are in their early-mid twenties, haha. So there were like... only five or six girls left in the theatre (besides the actress) and we had to go catch the school bus. So after getting our autographs and talking to them, we rushed out of the theatre and our class was nowhere to be found. Turns out they were on the bus--which was about to leave without us. I joked to my friends, who were also almost left behind, "it's okay. If we get left behind, we'll just ask them (the actors) to drive us home " hah. They were funny and really nice. Especially Will Bradley who played Mordred (Arthur's son--that might have been a spoiler but whatever).

Christmas

So I got a DSLR for Christmas! I was planning to get it myself after I saved enough money but... that didn't seem like it would happen soon. Thanks Mom and Dad! I got a bunch of other stuff but I'm writing this two months later and I forgot what I wanted to write.

Universal Studios

Today was my first time going to Universal Studios and it was great. At first I was hesitant because only about four of us "younger" people were going and I thought it was more of a get together thing with the cousins. But it was great. Grandma, uncle, and uncle-in-law came and we all enjoyed it together. I've been to Universal City Walk a few times but not the Universal Studios part. The first thing we went on was the tour. I loved it! I love movies and sets and we got to see the studios and everything. I love the effects and the "earthquake" in the subway. We went on the Simpsons ride and I was thinking "Oh no... it's a rollercoaster?" but it turns out it's just the screen. I liked that ride. My cousins brought us into that House of Horror thing. It's like a Haunted House. I was clinging onto my brother's hood the whole time because it was dark and I couldnt see anything. This brought back some memories--the time I volunteered at the "Haunted House" for YUCA. There's a few more I want to talk about but I'm going to stop here~

PMS?!

..no. I don't know.

I don't know why but today I have been in a bad mood. I found everything annoying more than I usually do. And no... it's not PMS! Maybe it's because of the stress or something. I have to read two whole book, two chaptesr for psychology and do study guides for both chapters, read two chapters for econ and do a study guide, do a movie project for psychology, a portfolio for English, and another project. All in three weeks (winter break). What a nice "gift." I miss those time in middle shcool and elementary where winter break meant sitting around and sleeping all that was on your mind was "When do we get to open the gifts?!" Sigh....

and I dont know why... but whenever I plan something, it never goes right. Yeah, yeah, some of you are going to say "you didnt organize it well." Well, some things I do organize it well--with time, date, location but EVERYONE decides to bail out last minute. But when someone else plans something, noooooo everyone goes. They cancel what they have and try to make it. Ugh, i might sound like a btch right now... but like I said, there's something wrong with me today. The only one person who could make me feel better isn't even on.

Holidays

So I'm sitting in the computer lab at the moment... because one, the college center is closed and two, I don't want to go to the assembly. There's only three of us here in the computer lab and it's so quiet. Wow, first semester is almost over. I think I'm doing better than last year. Psychology, my grade is like a rollercoaster... not really. It's been an A, but the percentage of the A have been like a rollercoaster--it's scary. First I had a 95% then it dropped to a 92% then it went back up... then down.... For drawing, that class is pretty easy so it should be good if I keep up the grade. AP Lit... it's easy but difficult at the same time. I'm enjoying it. Stats... probably the worse class. Not grade wise but the class itself. Actually... the teacher, haha. Econ, I'm doing the worse in. I have a C (but that's because the teacher curved it that way the seniors don't get fails. Sixth is service, easy A. But I feel "unproductive" in that class. The teacher rarely asks me to do anything so I feel like I'm useless.

I'm broke this year so I dont have enough money to buy presents for people for Christmas. I only bought See's candies and a bear for the teachers and for some friends, I got dolls/bears that have been piling up in the closet/room and wrote a card. It's the thought that counts, right? Especially during this time--recession. I'm not even sure why I'm blogging... when I should be doing my stats project... or reading for my econ tests the next two days. Ciao~

Christmas List / Secret Santa

It is that time of the year! Christmas! And since we're all too poor to buy everyone something, we'll be playing Secret Santa so someone could at least get some thing without having to buy 5049860 people gifts, haha. If you don't know how Secret Santa goes, here it is:

The basic concept of the Secret Santa game is simple. All of the participants’ names are placed into a hat, box, etc. and mixed up. Each person then chooses one name from the box, but doesn't tell anyone which name was picked. He/she is now responsible for buying a gift for the person selected.

When the Secret Santa wraps their gift, he/she just labels it with the recipients name but doesn't indicate whom the present is from. (Remember, most of the fun is in the secrecy.)

All the gifts are then placed in a general area for opening at a designated time. When the gift-giving time arrives each recipient finds their gift and must guess who their Secret Santa is. If they can't guess, their Secret Santa eventually confesses.

[credit goes to this one site... secretsanta.com, haha]

So, to keep the game fun, don't write your name on the gift. Just write,

"To: ___

From: Secret Santa."

Don't put your name anywhere! If you want to write a card, make sure your writing is different on the outside and make sure they open their gift before the card. Confusing... I hope not. We're not suppose to know who the gift is from... but how are we going to do that, if we're going to come to school with the gift? Won't they see who brought what gift? Well, this is the plan. I will be asking Mr. Zapata if I can leave a big bag in his room. In that bag, the Secret Santas will drop their gifts there and at lunch, I will be going to his class and bringing that bag to the cafeteria. I will then set the gifts out on the table and you will look for your name. Open your gift and try to guess who it's from. If you can't guess, then your Secret Santa will confess. If that was confusing, IM me!
