Beauty

Some people are not satisfied with their looks and go ahead and get plastic surgery. Ulzzang is a korean term for "best face." People online win contest for looking good. Net Idol means the same thing, but I guess it's a term mostly used for Japanese and Chinese. It's the same thing, people win contest online for looking good. I have been a fan of ulzzangs and I know that most of them get surgery. How? I've seen before and after pictures and read articles. If I don't see it for my self, I can't really say so. I know that girls in Asia care a lot about their looks. Enough to get plastic surgery, not satisfied with what their parents gave them. Most girls get surgery in their high school days; some even in middle school as a graduating or birthday gift. It's kind of sad to see middle schoolers get plastic surgery. They're still young, they're still devloping. If only they had more confident. But hey, whatever floats their boat. Yes, this world is indeed shallow. From what I see, the girls who gets taken faster are the prettier ones, the cute ones while we other girls are still waiting for our "Prince" to come. But all I have to say is, just wait, even if you're desperate. The real one will come to you for you. Not for how you look, but for you yourself and you wont regret waiting. The other day I was talking to a friend about this whole 'beauty' situation. And it's true, sometime we take a look in the mirror and ask ourself, "What's wrong with me? Am I doing something wrong or what?" And that's when I constantly say, "Not pretty enough. Not cute enough. *Hides in corner*" LOL, but I don't know. Only time will tell.

And wow... I've been replaying Honor Society's song over and over. While I was standing in line for the meet and greet, I didn't really care for them, hahaha. I was just there to "kill time" and get an autograph from a famous band. I liked their song, though. Few weeks later, I'm sitting here replaying their song over and over. I don't mind if I start getting into them and becoming a fan because I already have their autograph. Hahaha. And one of them even looked up at me so sweetly and said, "Thank you Lily," so cute~ ha. Nisei week ends in a few days. I must go!

Most boring summer ever.

At first, this blog was full of rant. But the title was supposed to be "Most Boring Summer Ever" so it had to be about the boring summer. So I took out the rant :P

Every year just gets worse and worst. When I was younger, I was able to go outside and bike with neighbors and just play tag. Now, I just sit in the house with my eyes glued to the computer screen, trying to find something to do. Yeah, you're thinking "Get a life!" And well, I couldn't agree more. I want to go out, explore, take pictures for memories, or do something! But no, being the well protected child I am, I can only go to places if the King and Queen says so. And they'd have to be the one to pick me up, or drop me off. If I am to find my own transportation, it has to be an adult. What if it was a friend? What if it was a sibling of a friend? Of course it would be a no. Why? Apparently, in the eyes of Asian parents, all teenagers are seen as horrible people who have nothing better to do than get in trouble. I don't know why, but I feel like I deserve some trust. I feel like I am not trusted... at all. My parents think I lie to them and that it's because of the people I hang out with. I can't believe they think that at all. The people I hang out with do not consist of any trouble maker. None. They all have better grades than me. They participate in all these academic things. They are so sophisticated and talented. While most of my friends get a boyfriend or girlfriend behind their parents' back, I don't! I don't lie to my parents because I end up guilty. I have always told them the truth. But apparently, because of little misunderstandings, it lead them to think I am a liar (I'm crying as I'm writing this, so it's taking me forever). It hurts me that they don't believe me and don't trust me. I have friends telling me how lucky I am. How great my life is. But is it really? How do you know? How do you know that I am not hurting? How in pain I am? How lonely it is. I may see the world bright, sunny, and "beautiful." But hiding in the corner is the real me who sees nothing but darkness.

So what I wanted to do since the beginning of summer was go to Disneyland's summer night thing, go bike at the beach, take ulzzang style pictures, take cue picures, karaoke, lose some weight, get really nice new clothes, go to Knotts, hang out with Lizzie and Grace, and a few other things. Guess how many of those I did. None. Nada. Zip. If I want to get them done, there's only one thing. Only one problem stands in the way: FIND A RIDE. I am at the age where I can drive. Unfortunately, my fear of driving has prevented me to do so. You're thinking, "Why are you scared? Just be careful." Well, if I walked out at night on the street and "be careful," does that exactly mean I'm safe? What if I'm careful and some driver just rams into my car? What if someone is standing far away with a weapon ready to attack? *knocks on wood*

If I won the lottery, I would totally get a driver, hahaha. Oh, could've won the lottery if this one thing didn't happen, which I am pissed about.

Meeting the Wondergirls (and Honor Society)

So I won the contest.

I was told to be at Staple Center five minutes before 8:45 PM. I got there at 6 and walked around. My WonderGirls shirt was in my bag and my huge poster (which was too thick to roll up), I had to close it in half. I looked around for ANY other WonderGirls fan, or anyone with a Wondergirls shirt, but everywhere I looked, everyone wore Jonas Brothers tshirt (well, it IS the Jobro's concert, it's just WG is opening for them). I was like, "Wow... I could not find ONE shirt that said Wondergirls." So I walked back and forth and then I saw two Korean guys, one holding a white t-shirt. I was thinking to myself, "They must be here for WG. They're probably a fan*tastic and that white t-shirt must be the custom made t-shirt that we were asked to make. So they went up to ask the guards where the Verizon bus was (where we were going to meet up) but the guard didn't know. So I asked the two guys if they were looking for the bus and they said yes. And I said I was looking for it too. They were anti-social. So anyway, I keep walking and I see someone with a WG shirt and I look up at the person. It was Rosie (apparently, she has connections and is a big fan. So she's going to most of the concert. And let me tell you, there's about 40 something cities, which means 40 something concerts and she's attending most of them.) Since she's going to be with them for most of the concert, I guess she gets passes and stuff. So I asked her where the bus was and she told me. So I walked over to the bus and I see "anti-social" guys. I wait for a while longer before walking back to Staple Center. There were thousands of girls waiting in line to see JoBro. Then two girls walk pass me (June and Toni) and they ask if I was here for Wondergirls and I said yes. Turns out they were fan*tastics too! So I told them I would see them later. After circling Staple Center, I see another girl (Jane) with a Wondergirl t-shirt. I didnt guess she was a fantastic, though, but she was. So I met up with them at the bus. Us four girls and the two "anti-social" guys who didnt want to join us. They were just off talking to themselves and waiting. Then another guy comes (Thomas) and he was wearing a WG shirt, so he was a fan*tastic. Turns out he bought the ticket for 100+ dollar just to get in, see the wondergirls, and get out (and not staying for the rest of the concert, cuz the rest is JoBro) and WG was only performing ONE song. So that's a big fan right there. So then we stood and talked and I was really comfortable with them. I was really social and they didn't ignore me, like people I know in real life would, so I was really happy to be around them. Then another guy shows up and he asks if we were fan*tastics and we say yes. Turns out he is one too (Jeremiah). We talk talk talk then I get a text saying to meet in front of Staple Center across a target billboard so we all walk over there and met other fan*tastics, which was about 20 (more or less) total. Hana (the manager) came out and took roll call. We got our [meet and greet] wristbands and then she took is down to the parking lot to meet the girls. On the site, they said we would get photo-op with the girls, autographs, t-shirts, and CDs. But we only got one out of the four, which was the photo. The fan*tastics were upset because we were rushed. "Get in, take your picture, and we'll escort you out." At first the security said, "no pictures, no autographs. Get in, shake hands, get out." And we're all like... wtheck? But one of the manager said it was okay so ONLY pictures. We had to get into groups of three, though. But we had four: me, Jane, Jeremiah, and Thomas. The four of us stood in the waiting area and when it was our turn, YeEun peeked out and waved to me and was like "hi, c'mon~" and I walked over to them. I made Sunye a birthday card so I handed it to her and said, "This is for your early birthday," and she gave me a sweet look and said, "Awww, that's so sweet, thank you." And I showed the girls the box of chocolate and cards I made and said, "And these are for all of you," and handed it to... I think YeEun or Yoobin. I stood in the middle of Sunye and Yoobin and Sunye opened the big card. She said, "aww" or something like that and was going to read it, but then we were in a rush and she was like, "Oops, I'll read it later ^^" and we were going to do the Nobody pose but I had a huge poster in front of me. That poster, I was planning to wear around my neck while passing out fliers. But I wanted to do the pose too so I handed it to SunMi. After we took the picture, I wanted it back (to wear while passing out fliers) but I thought it was rude to take it back. And btw, it was full of pictures of them... so I dont think they'd want it, haha. So no autographs. JYP was standing around so we went up to him and asked for a picture and autograph, which he gladly gave. I got one. Went back out the parking lot and passed out lots of fliers. Comments I heard were, "Oh, we saw them!" "They were really cute!" "It's nice to see some Asians!" (<- from an asian lady) "I liked them" "Can I have two more fliers?"

After I passed them out, I went back to the spot where all the fan*tastics were and we just stood around. Hana didn't come back out. I guess when we were done, we could just leave. So we stood in a circle talking and then took a group picture. Still, we weren't really satisfied. So most of us decided to attend the girls' meet and greet autograph session at the Verizon store in ktown. Wondergirls start at 2-3 while Honor Society starts at 12. Instead of arriving at 2, I arrived at 9AM. There were people in line already. But luckily I was there earlier than the others who came at 10, 11, 12, 1, or 2. We were given wristbands. Red ones were for the people who made it early and they're guaranteed an autograph. People who came later than 12 got yellow/green wristbands which meant it was a MAYBE for them. When autographs started for Honor Society, my friend and I decided to get in line just for the heck of it, even though we didn't know them (I heard their song). The Verizon guy (i guess the host) of the meet and greet was doing contest to win backstage, VIP, tickets, and everything. But we werent a fan of HS so we were probably the only ones not cheering. When we got in, the guys said hi and signed our poster and I asked one of them to make it out to "lily." When I got to the last guy, he looked at the poster with my name and said, "Thanks lily" with a smile and I was like "Thanks!" and was really happy cuz he said my name, hahah. So I got back in line for WG (line was saved) and a lot of other stuff happened before I got to go in. The first person at the table was Sunye. So while she signed my poster, I asked her, "Remember the birthday card from yesterday? It was from me." And pointed to a cartoon picture I drew on my shirt that was identical to the one I drew on her card and she smiled and said, "Oh, that was you? Thank you." then I moved on down the table to Yoobin, Sohee, YeEun, and then Sunmi. I was going to ask YeEun to make it out to me but then I was afraid of being rushed so I didnt. MY ONLY REGRET!! AHH! So after that, I waited around outside. Some people left after getting the autographs. But a few minutes later, the security created lines where fans were able to walk through and take pictures of the girls who were standing under the shade looking pretty, surrounded by guards holding back crazy fans. My oh my how many times they had to repeat "BACK UP," haha. Well, I guess that's it :)

Long blog? Yes.

All right, so what have I been up to? Nothing, nothing at all. No sarcasm here. I am really upset about my laptop. About a few years ago, my cooler for the laptop broke. Then, I get virus and all these crap (excuse my language) and now, the light for the screen doesn't work. Do you guys remember the Gameboy Color? The gameboy without light? Well, that's how my laptop is... except it's worse. I can see windows, but it's hard to find where my mouse is. The screen is completely dark and I need to use a freaking flashlight. Yeah, I should have backed my files up and put it in an external hard drive and all that. But because of my laptop holding too much files, it takes a long time to load and my laptop turns off!! So, now, I'm uploading pictures and saving them onto imageshack, I'm sending the files I don't want to lose to my dad's laptop, and I'm copying and pasting the text/documents I dont want to lose onto here, blogspot, except they're saved as drafts. Ugh, so upset. If something happens to this laptop, I will go crazy. I think I'm going to focus on getting a new desktop or a laptop instead of a camera. So anyway, on facebook, Maggie posted the teaser trailer for Dorian Gray. It looks really interesting. The guy that plays the main character is the one that played Prince Caspian in Narnia and he's really cute. Maggie didn't notice until she saw his, what she calls "buttchins," and yeah. I thought he was really good looking and for him to play a role like Dorian Gray (search it up), wow! Just wow. I'm supposed to be studying up for the stupid driving thing (I don't want to drive), but I'm too busy with files and stuff. I find this more important, haha. Honestly, I don't take tests as serious as I should and that's a bad thing. I don't know what's going on with me. All that seems to be in my head is "-------------beeeep----------" In school, I am surrounded by people with GPAs higher than 3.5 or a 4.0, read novels and books about politics or something I find extremely boring, talk about calculus and science in class, or TV shows like House and stuff I don't find interesting, I feel bad--for myself. So I groan and pick up a book and push myself. How can these guys go out and party, have fun, and maintain such great grades? They panic over a B or C (like any other asians would) while I go, "Eh, I can do better," and panic at the last minute. It's people like them who make me want to take AP classes (even though deep down, I don't want to), but I have to thank them.

edit: wow, I spent an hour ranting to Ivy about a few people. Sorry buddy >_< you didn't have to read it. I just needed to rant.

Vegas

Will come back with pictures, lots of em. So went to Vegas... same ol' same ol'. It's nice to get away from LA, though. Before we left, we ate pho in chinatown then went to buy my memory card for camera on the way there. As soon as I got out of the car and went to target (for the memory card), it was soooo hot. Blah blah blah, when we got to vegas, we dropped aunts off at Monte Carlo and then went to eat at thai restaurant in LV's chinatown. After that, we headed to Circus Circus, went to hotel, drop our stuff off, and went off to play. I spent about 20 bucks on DDR. It's a dollar per person and since I was playing double most of the time, it was two bucks per game for me. Some random guy asked me how long I was playing and if the people from the place I "came from" play it a lot. I didnt bother saying "I'm from Cali," since he's probably from somewhere else so I said yeah. And he asked if he could battle. Honestly, I didnt want to so I just told him I have two more games to go and he said "okay," and then waited. Then my parents were standing by the changing machine with my brother talking and then he goes up to them and was like "where are yo uguys from?" and im just going O_____o and was hoping to finish the game before he comes back, cuz he went somewhere else.

After that, I went to play basketball and some other games. Man, I owned in basketball! Shot almost all the baskets in a row (not to mention, they were all swishes ^^). The next day, we went to eat at Casino Cafe (burger in the morning) and then went to pick up aunt from Monte Carlo, drove to see this one house (and apparently I entered the wrong address in the gps). After that, we all got off at Circus Circus and I went to play in the adventuredome (DDR) and after that, went back to the arcade and yeah. For dinner we had the circus buffet. I was playing this one game where there's a beach ball floating in air (because of the wind from the bottom) and what you have to do is use a beanie and hit make the beach ball fall off. It's tricky sometimes because the wind blows the ball in different directions. So my brother and I played that. We won the first one, then the second one. The huge prizes are Rugrats character. I wanted Lil. (I'm Lily, my brother's Phillip and the prize, there were both Lil and Phil) So the woman said we have to win seven small prizes to trade it up for the big one. When we had enough (after spend about 4 bucks or something), we got it. It was funny because my brother won most of it and I decided to get Lil.

Went to eat this thai restaurant in downtown lasvegas today morning and ugh, the food is not good. We've been saving our tickets for.... a while and we have about thirty-forty something thousand? My brother wants to save it so he can get the PS3 -_- which means he has to buy more games for that. Ugh. Anywayyyy, I have a lot to talk about but I'll stop here. Tired.

Insomnia oh oh~

Feels like insomnia ah ah,

No seriously. Feels like insomnia. I cant get any sleep! For the past week, I've been tossing and turning. If it took me an hour to fall asleep, that's normal. But I've been going to bed around 11:50 PM and end up falling asleep around 5 in the morning. Around 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4, I'm still trying to get comfortable and fall asleep. Is it because it's hot? I don't know. But I dont want this to keep happening because its so boring doing nothing for five hours, hahahaha. Yes, lame reason. But yeah. I'm about to leave to Vegas in about two-three hours.

I'll probably do my Fan*Tastic video when I get back. I'm still crossing my fingers to get chosen. If I do, I help pass out flyers after the concert. Not only that, but meet the girls, get pictures, autographs, autographed CDs/tshirt. You see the "I'm So Hot" picture? Their outfits for "So Hot" had like, tiger prints on them. So when I saw that shirt, I immediately thought of them. I wanted to buy it and show it to them (if i get chosen) but that was a super small.

Ugh, it's hot. I dont want to type anymore.

Oh, it's 7/11 today. So I'm not sure if it's all 7-11 but they're giving out free slurpees :)

Summer

So I'm back to blogging. "Back? What do you mean? You stopped?" is what you're wondering, haha. I wasn't planning to blog. But after spending about two hours reading a soompier's blog (her life in korea as an english teacher, teaching middle school students. It looked fun and interesting), I decided to come back and blog. Usually over summer, you'd think a lot of thing will happen and I'd write about them in my blog. Well, I've been sitting in front of the laptop watching movies on my dvd player. How sad is that? And I've been going to the restroom a lot lately. I mean A LOT. Oh, in one of the soompier's blog, there was one that caught my attention the most. She took the words right out of my mouth. Hmm, so just the other day I was at target looking for Everybody Loves Raymond DVDs to bring on the car ride to vegas. That's probably the only thing I'm looking forward to this summer; just getting away from here. I really wanted to bike at beach but I don't see that happening anymore. And wanting to go karaoke and just hanging out, everyone is booked up.

So there's this WG's street team. They are touring with the Jobro and they'll be at Staple Center for three days. To be a part of their team Fan*tastic, I have to send in a 30 second video why I love them and all that. Mine was crappy. If they choose me, I get to help pass out flyers after the concerts. I also get to meet WG, get pictures, free CDs with their autograph and all that. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping I'd get picked.

So right now, I'm watching Night at the Museum (the first one) on DVD and I'm about to eat springrolls. I was going to write the next chapter of my fic but decided to do some blogging. Last year I DDRed all day hoping to lose weight. Nothing changed. Ugh. This year, I'm sitting around watching movies/shows on DVD player, dance, and DDR at the mall.
